WALKING TOGETHER

About the United Reformed Churches of the Philippines

A federation of three Reformed churches who desire to walk together in faithful obedience to Jesus Christ and according to His Word.

Our beginning

AN INAUGURAL CLASSIS

On August 23, 2026, Zion Covenant Reformed Church, Christ Community Reformed Church and Cavite Reformed Community Church gathered at Cavite Reformed Community Church in Kawit, Cavite, for their inaugural classis meeting.

At that meeting the three churches formally constituted themselves as a federation under the name United Reformed Churches of the Philippines (URCP). They affirmed their common Reformed faith and confession, summarized in the Three Forms of Unity, and their common Church Order.

Through this federative relationship they seek mutual edification, accountability, cooperation and a faithful witness to the gospel, while preserving the distinct identity and local responsibility of each instituted church.

The founding churches

DISTINCT, NOT DISCONNECTED

Although the churches stand distinctly alongside one another, they do not thereby stand disconnectedly alongside one another. Their unity in Christ and their common confession call them to fellowship and cooperation.

What a federation is

FOR THE WELL-BEING OF THE CHURCHES

Federative relationships do not belong to the essence or being of the church, but serve the well-being of the churches. A local church is truly a church by virtue of Christ’s institution and its faithful exercise of the marks of the church.

Unity in faith and confession

A federation is possible only on the basis of the one faith delivered to the saints and confessed in the Three Forms of Unity.

A multitude of counselors

Meeting together in consultation guards against human imperfection and draws on the wisdom of many.

The local church remains

Broader assemblies do not replace the authority of the local church; they help the churches assist, encourage, admonish and counsel one another.

Under the Word of God

Decisions of broader assemblies derive their authority from their conformity to Scripture, the supreme and final standard.

Open to like-minded churches

Not an isolated body, the federation seeks the broadest possible contacts with churches committed to the Reformed faith.

For Christ’s kingdom

To strengthen His churches, preserve sound doctrine and proclaim the gospel in the Philippines.

Our commitment

The three churches commit themselves to walk together in humility, mutual submission and faithfulness to the Word of God, recognizing that their unity originates not in themselves but in Jesus Christ, the Head of the Church.

“BEHOLD, HOW GOOD AND PLEASANT IT IS WHEN BROTHERS DWELL IN UNITY!”
